How is everyone this week? Well it sounds like everyone is doing great!! I love that everyone is healthy and happy!! Sammy, how does it feel to be an adult?? Start getting ready now for your mission!!! It is close!!! Study from PMG!!!! It will be so much better for you!
Well this week was super super rainy!! Holy cow, I think I was wet the whole time and I kind of got a cold, so dang it!! But Sister Batalero and I, slowly but surely we understand eachother!! Ha sometimes she will start speaking Tagalog and then I get so lost!! But all is well, I like to think I am getting better at it!!
We had a really good week of teaching! We found new investigators, who hopefully will have some promise! Things are different in this area. Since our area is so far from the church a lot of people have a hard time finding money to get to church and it really is a long walk, So we teach a lot about faith and really we just have to trust in the Lord that he will help them find means!! it is so ANNOYING haha joke but seriously, kind of rough!
KILLED it on Wednesday!! Both of us just felt so good, mostly with language and with our visits! We visited a lot of members!! Mostly because we need their help. A lot of people here just are shy and need a friend! IT WORKED!!! Holy cow, I was able to get to know more people and in turn we even got a couple referrals!! We seriously both were all smiles and so excited!!!! We love love love referrals!!! But thursday, we visited a lady, she has a tumor in her neck, she is in her 60's. But she is now LA due to her illness. But it was her birthday! So we ate with her family and then we sang to her and shared with her, First off, on my plate was the NECK of the chicken........YUCK!!! Ha i couldnt do it!! It grossed me out so bad!! All the memories of killing chickens at grandmas flooded back into my mind!!! But of course it is rude, so I choked it down!! HAHA but anyways, i just had so much respect for this lady, she is sick, like dying sick. She cant speak she just lays there in the blazing hott, but we visited and the whole time she was just smiling at us!! We both were almost in tears as she was waving good-bye to us.. SO sweet..
But this week here was Family Week!! People here are really family oriented. So for Friday, we went with the Branch President and his wife and a couple members to a non member family, we had an FHE with them!!! We wanted to teach more people how to strengthen their families!! Even when their kids are young. So we sang and taught and played games. This family has so much potential!! They need the gospel!!! And it was so much fun,,,,,that i forgot to take a picture!!!! Palagpat!! i was mad about it!! Maybe we can do another some other time!!
Saturday was the closing of the celebration! We met at the church like with all the members of our District (stake) and we had a little parade. We walked down the town and us as missionaries just OYM'd to like everyone we saw! Then there was a program at the church, there was speakers and some talants! So it was nice!! Our whole zone of missionaries was there so it was fun to see all of them! It is weird, since i am in the area farthest for sisters, there is only 4 of us, the rest elders, way way different than my last zone. But it was fun.
But, we had our first baptism here. It was Brother Mark. Man, he was so ready!!!! The elders baptized him. But he was so excited and he just was super emotional!! He bore a really good testimony. He just said that he knows now that he is a member he has to try super hard to stay worthy, because he knows that this is the true church and where he wants and needs to be....it was great!!! We need priesthood in our Branch so he will be a great asset to it!!!
The more I am here, it is so different but I like it! Meeting new people and what not!! my Testimony of faith and courage has definitely grown. I know that when we rely on Jesus Christ he really does help us!! I love where i am at right now!!! Even though hard, i like it!!! I miss you all. But keep reading and praying. This gospel is True.. The book of Mormon is our road map and we need to use it everyday to help us overcome the temptations of the world!! I love being a missionary!! Time is going crazy fast, seeing that picture of Sis Arnold all adjusted and what not makes me nervous hahaha she looks really good tho!! LOVE YOU ALL!!! Keep up the good work. Stay safe......Until next week!!!!! MWAH!!!
